A 19-year-old woman is dead after crashing into a tree in Brunswick Sunday morning.

Police say Kaylah Rusaw was driving a 2016 Nissan Rogue at about 8:45 am on Old Bath Road near Box 391 when she lost control, crossed the road, and hit a tree.

Officers say the front and side airbags of the car were deployed. They say Rusaw was not wearing a seat belt and speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.

Police say Brunswick Fire and Rescue performed CPR for about 30 minutes, but were not able to revive Rusaw, who died at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
