Two men face drug trafficking charges, including one from Portland, after a raid by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency at a residence in Dixfield.
Agents say they conducted undercover purchases of illegal drugs, which included crack cocaine, from the residence at 57B High Street.
They say 38-year-old Joshua Campbell of Dixfield and 33-year-old Kenneth McCollum of Portland tried to block their entrance and flee the scene when confronted by officers at the home.
Agents say Campbell physically tried to block their entry before they arrested him, and McCollum attempted to flee through a second-floor window before tossing out a firearm and returning inside. They say McCollum was found in the second-floor bathroom where he was “attempting to destroy several bags of illegal drugs.
Agents say they seized 225 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 10 grams of fentanyl, assorted unidentified capsules and pills, three loaded firearms, and $ 4,350 in drug proceeds at the residence.
It was later found that McCoullum had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Somerset County for failing to appear in court for drug trafficking and firearm charges with a bail set on the warrant at $100,000. McCoullum was also out on bail from previous drug related charges where he was required to wear an electronic monitoring device. McCoullum was not wearing the monitoring device and had previously removed it.
McCollum was arrested for Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Cocaine) Class A (2 Counts). Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Class B and Violation of Conditional Release, Class C.
Campbell was arrested for Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Cocaine) Class A and Obstruction of Government Administration, Class D,
Both McCallum and Campbell were taken to the Oxford County Jail. Bail was set for Campbell at $ 25,000 cash.
