Police have confirmed that two people have died after being hit by an Amtrak train in Biddeford.

WGME reports that an Amtrak representative stated that individuals were trespassing on the tracks when they came into contact with the train.

The representative said “Amtrak is working with local law enforcement to investigate the incident.”

The two individuals were hit Sunday around 11 a.m.

Police say the passengers on the train traveling from Portland to Boston were moved to another train.

There were around 81 passengers on the train at the time.
