Two people were on board a small plane that crashed into the ocean in Bristol on Thursday.
Photo from a witness shows the plane upside down in the ocean by Fort William Henry, which is near Pemaquid Beach.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the Diamond DA-20 two-seat aircraft went down around 1:40 p.m.
The conditions of both people on board were unknown as of Thursday afternoon.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
