CASTLE HILL (WGME) — Two teenagers were hospitalized on Friday night following a rollover crash in Aroostook County.

Police say the single-vehicle crash on Route 227 in Castle Hill happened just after 9 p.m.

According to police, the driver had attempted to swerve to miss a deer in the road, then crossed the centerline and lost control of the car.

The car rolled a number of times before coming to stop in a stand of trees.

Both the driver and the passenger were able to get out of the car, and were transported to a hospital in Presque Isle with serious injuries.

Police say driver inexperience and speed are factors in the crash.

Neither the driver or passenger were wearing seatbelts.

The crash is currently under investigation.
