235 People are in the Hospital due to COVID-19, a pandemic high

Saturday the Maine CDC reported 235 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 which breaks the previous high of 226 on Wednesday.  The last time we broke 200 was in January of 2021.  The CDC also reported 603 new cases and 4 new deaths.  That brings us to 87,189 total cases with 24,824 of those considered probable cases.  All this comes as 868,047 people, or 73.4 percent, of the population of Maine is fully vaccinated.
As a comparison, on this day last year (when 0 percent of the population was vaccinated), there were 20 new cases reported with 10 people in the hospital.
