A barn in Bridgton is destroyed after it was consumed by large flames Sunday morning.

Crews from more than 10 fire departments battled the fire on Middle Ridge Road, which also destroyed two cars in the barn, and another outside the home.

The three-alarm residential fire rapidly spread to the old milking barn and into the residence. Firefighters say they successfully contained the fire within the “L” portion of the residence, with minimal damage to the breeze way and kitchen area.

About 6,000 gallons of water was transported to the scene before being released by fire command. Casco Fire/Rescue had a crew of five standing by at Central Station to cover additional calls if needed.

There were no injuries in the fire, which is being investigated by the Maine State Fire Marshal’s office.

Fire Departments assisting at the blaze included Baldwin, Casco, Denmark, Fryeburg, Harrison, Hiram, Lovell Volunteer Fire Company, Naples, Norway, Otisfield, Raymond, Sebago, Sweden, and Waterford.
