Maine will receive $5 million in grant funding to help expand broadband access in rural communities.
The funding comes through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
According to CBS 13 news, the money is set to be used to plan for broadband access in rural areas. President Biden’s infrastructure law calls for a $65 billion investment to expand high-speed internet access across the country.
Governor Janet Mills says her goal is to expand high-speed internet to every home in Maine by 2024.
