A Washington County man dead in single car crash early Saturday morning


PRINCETON (WGME)—A Princeton man is dead after being involved in a single vehicle crash early Saturday Morning.

According to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public safety, Maine State Police responded to a call around 5:40 A.M for the crash.

Peter Leighton, 59, of Princeton was driving his 2019 Ford F-150 when Police believe he was traveling in the southbound lane, crossed over the centerline and then went off the road hitting a tree. He died at the scene.
