An attempt to bail a friend out of jail with counterfeit money leads to major drug bust in Auburn

AUBURN, ME – Auburn Police have arrested Angelina Quirion, 39, of Bangor and Adam Jalbert, 33, of Caribou. Both have been charged with four (4) counts of Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drugs (Class A) and Violation of Conditional Release (Class E).

The Auburn Police Department was alerted of the pair when they attempted to bail someone out from the Androscoggin County Jail using counterfeit currency.
On January 20, 2022, at 11:30 pm, officers located Quirion and Jalbert waiting in a vehicle outside the jail. Both Quirion and Jalbert had active bail conditions from previous drug arrests. Officers searched their vehicle and located a large quantity of narcotics.

Officers seized 112.3 grams of cocaine base, 165.3 grams of cocaine, 299.5 grams of fentanyl, and 492.3 grams of methamphetamines, along with a SCCY 9mm pistol. A Lewiston Police Department K9 assisted in the search.

This investigation is ongoing, the Auburn Police are working with other law enforcement agencies and anticipate additional charges being filed.
