A Lisbon Falls man facing child exploitation charges was taken into custody Monday morning.

Shannon Moss with the Maine Department of Public Safety says 35-year-old Joseph Gibson was arrested and investigators executed a search warrant at his home on Ridge Road around 8 a.m. Monday. Investigators said evidence was found on scene and Gibson was charged with Dissemination of Sexually Explicit Material and Possession of Sexually Explicit Material involving a child under the age of 12.

Out of an abundance of caution, a nearby school was placed in a soft lockdown and a road was closed while police were at the home. Police say there is no threat to the public or the school.
