Another Fire on Maine Turnpike Disrupts Traffic

Image of tractor trailer fire from Maine State Police

Another fire on the Maine Turnpike disrupted traffic late Monday evening.

Maine State Police say a tractor-trailer headed to Presque Isle experienced mechanical issues just north of Medway on I-95 and pulled over.

Officers say the tractor portion caught on fire, while the 53-foot trailer was unloaded and caught fire as well.

Nobody was injured, but traffic was reduced to one lane (passing lane) for several hours before opening back up.
Bouchard’s Towing was en route to clear the roadway at the time.
Another fire along I-95 Sunday night also disrupted traffic as a Maine Turnpike Authority garage and all contents inside were destroyed.
