Portland PD discover human remains behind homeless shelter in Riverton area

Portland Police say decomposed human remains were found this morning in the woods behind the Homeless Services Center on Riverside Avenue.

According to a statement, the discovery was reported at around 8:42 AM, with officers arriving to find remains that appeared to have been there for a significant amount of time.

The death does not appear to be suspicious at the moment, and authorities are working to identify the deceased and the cause of death.

Anyone with information is asked to call Portland PD.
