A spring storm that brought rain, snow and strong gusty winds to Maine knocked out power to more than 200,000 Central Maine Power customers.

Outages peaked at about 204,000 during the storm.

CMP officials say they’re taking preventative measures to protect crews working to restore power. Only one person at a time is allowed in company vehicles, and workers must maintain a 6-foot physical distance.

More than 100 CMP crews and another 130 contractor crews were expected to work through the day Friday to restore power.

In Cumberland County, there were a little more than 11,000 outages as of 10:30 a.m.
