Arrest warrant issued for Sanford Representative for alleged domestic violence

Police say a Sanford state representative is wanted for alleged aggravated domestic assault.

Sanford police confirmed there’s a warrant for the arrest of Republican State Rep. Lucas Lanigan, who represents parts of Shapleigh, Newfield, Sanford and Springvale.

Lanigan was elected to the house in 2022 and is running for reelection in the 141st district against Democrat Patricia Kidder. He currently serves on the innovation, development, economic advancement and business committee in the house.
