Arts Education Program to Expand to Lewiston

A Portland education group received a large federal grant.

The Portland Press Herald reports Side x Side got a $2.5 million boost to expand an arts education program to Lewiston schools.

Side x Side involves professors and student interns from the University of Southern Maine. They’ve been teaching creative arts projects in Portland elementary schools.

The new funding will allow the program to be offered in ten schools overall.
