Police are investigating after shots were fired and bullets hit an Auburn apartment building last night just before nine o’clock.

Officers say they found several shell casings on the ground and discovered that bullets had hit an apartment building on Grove Street, causing property damage.

A witness told police there was an argument between several underage people inside the apartment building, and officers say the group was kicked out of the building just moments before the first shots were fired.

No injuries were reported, and the shooting remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Auburn Police Detective McCamish at mmccamish@auburnmaine.gov or by calling (207) 333-6650 ext. 2067.
