Senator Susan Collins appeared on the WGAN Morning News Thursday to discuss the house impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Collins was asked what goes into deciding whether to remove the President from the White House. She said she had experts from the Congressional Research Service come to her office last week to discuss precedence, procedures and what the constitution meant by high crimes and misdemeanors.

“There have only been two other impeachment trials in our nation’s entire history, so it’s obviously a high bar to reach that standard,” Collins said. “I’m going to be evaluating the evidence against the standard that is in the constitution.”

The senate is controlled by Trump’s republican party, and it’s almost certain he’ll be acquitted there.
