An Augusta man has been arrested and charged in connection with a murder-for-hire plot.

The Dept. of Justice says 41-year-old Hyunkook Korsiak participated in a plot to murder a businessman in Manhattan for $50,000, but Korsiak plotted with undercover FBI agents and the intended victim was fictitious.

The DOJ says Korsiak traveled Wednesday from Maine to Tarrytown, NY, where he intended to make his final preparations for the murder.

Instead, Korsiak was arrested by FBI agents.

According to CBS 13, authorities say they seized two ar-15 rifles and two 9mm semi-automatic pistols.

They also say the suspect had a bullet proof vest, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, high-capacity magazines, rifle scopes and latex gloves.
