Investigators believe the discovery of an abandoned vehicle in Maine could lead them to a missing 6-year-old from Florida.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says the vehicle was found in Littleton. Police said personal items were found that may be linked to Jorge “Jo-Jo” Morales, who went missing from Miami, Florida on Aug. 27.

Police believe Jo-Jo was abducted by his father and paternal grandmother, who are facing a felony charge of custodial interference. Investigators believe the three could be in Maine or eastern Canada.

Jo-Jo’s mother says the child is on the autism spectrum and sometimes has difficulty communicating. She said she also had reason to believe the boy’s father was planning to abduct him.

Jo-Jo is a male with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s 3 feet tall weighing 55 pounds.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
