Maine State Police say 28-year-old Paul Johnston faces charges including eluding an officer, violation of conditional release and criminal speed.

Police attempted to stop his vehicle on Broadway in Bangor on Thursday after the car he was driving, a 2015 GMC Sierra, was reported stolen. Johnston fled, getting on to I-95, then taking an exit in Hermon. Police followed him through Hermon before laying out a spike strip to stop the vehicle in Carmel.

Johnston was arrested around 12:10 p.m.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact state police.
