Police in Bangor are investigating the discovery of a body near the Airport Mall.

The department says the body of a male was found in a field near Union Street on Thursday morning.

Police said Friday the person had been positively identified, and next of kin were notified, but no name was released.

An autopsy will take place to determine the cause of death.

The investigation remains open, but the death does not appear to be suspicious and there’s no danger to the public.
