The Beach to Beacon 10k in Cape Elizabeth celebrated its 27th anniversary this year.

Runners got to the starting line on Saturday, starting early at 7:50 a.m.

The race started by Crescent Beach State Park on Route 77 and ended at Fort Williams with the scenic view of the Portland Headlight. That was where the fastest finishers got their medals.

CBS 13 reports that this year’s winner finished with a record time. Conner Mantz finished the 10k in 27 minutes and 26 seconds.

Organizers of the event say the Mantz is the first American to win the Beach to Beacon since 2016.
