The Portland Jetport is bracing for a rash of canceled flights after an announcement that the FAA will reduce air traffic by 10 percent in 40 high-volume markets starting Friday.

The Jetport has non-stop service to 15 markets, which it says are likely to be included in the order. More than 97 percent of the Jetport’s 1,044 flights over the next two weeks are to or from those 15 markets.

“While the Jetport is not expected to be one of the 40 airports with a restriction implemented, 97% of our flights are going to or from likely restricted airports, and we will certainly have flight delays and cancellations as this shutdown continues,” said Portland Airport Director Paul Bradbury in a statement.

The Jetport is encouraging passengers to check their flight status with the airline before heading to the airport. All airlines serving the Jetport have issued travel advisories allowing passengers to change flights to later dates or receive a refund if flights are cancelled.

Cancellation data for tomorrow is available here with Portland Jetport information available here.
