Biddeford is looking for an artist to create a design for the historic Citgo sign at Five Points Corner at Routes 111 and 1.

The city says the goal is promote the area’s rich industrial and cultural heritage.

City staff says the final design should foster a sense of place, welcome visitors, and celebrate the evolving identity of Biddeford as a hub for creativity and culture.

The chosen artist will work closely with city staff members and the Downtown Development Commission.

The city says the project is a direct response to Biddeford’s Cultural Plan and Public Art guidelines, which prioritize placemaking, accessibility, and community engagement.

Anyone interested in making a lasting impact on the city’s visual landscape is encouraged to submit a design.
