Biddeford teen charged with attempted murder faces indictment

An 18-year-old from Biddeford who was charged with attempted murder has returned to Maine.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Ariana Tito was arrested in Brooklyn, New York last month in connection with a shooting in Saco in November that left 32-year-old Kayla Grant in critical condition. Grant is still recovering.

Tito spent about a month on Rikers Island in New York before returning to Maine. She has not yet been indicted, but her attorney says she will plead not guilty.

The shooting happened at the same address where Tito’s brother, Lorenze Labonte, was arrested a day earlier for the killing of Ahmed Sharif.

It’s not yet clear if the two shootings are connected.
