BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP)   A boat operator has been indicted on two counts of negligent homicide stemming from a crash in New Hampshire last year that killed a 7-year-old girl and an adult.

Seacoastonline.com reports that 60-year-old John Wickman, of Eliot, Maine, was indicted by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury. He’s accused of negligently crashing into a buoy on the Piscataqua River in Newington on May 5, 2018, causing the deaths of 7-year-old Kaillen Wickman, and 56-year-old Laurie Stewart. Kaillen’s then-5-year-old brother was injured.

Police said one of the passengers, who was wearing a life jacket, was ejected from the 24-foot Boston Whaler into the river during the crash.

It wasn’t immediately known if John Wickman had a lawyer, and a phone number couldn’t be found for him.
