The state medical examiner’s office has confirmed that a body found in North Yarmouth was that of a missing teacher.

The autopsy also confirmed that she took her life.

The announcement on Sunday came after a scheduled prayer vigil Saturday night turned into an impromptu memorial service.

Kristin Westra was reported missing Monday morning by her husband, who said she’d disappeared in the night without her keys or cellphone. Her body was found on Friday, and the autopsy was conducted Sunday. Jay Westra said his wife had experienced anxiety and was having trouble sleeping before she went missing from their home.
