The identity of the woman found dead at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth last week is now known.

The Medical Examiner in Augusta positively identified the woman Wednesday morning as 52-year-old Sari Carlson of Portland.

Her body was found by police last Thursday at the Portland Head Light after a report of a dead body washing up on shore.

The cause and manner of Carlson’s death are still under investigation.

No further details are available at this time, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
