Business in Portland’s Bayside must quiet down after 11pm to keep it’s entertainment license

The entertainment license for a business in the Portland Bayside neighborhood that has received many noise complaints has been renewed, but there are strings attached.  In a meeting on Monday night the Portland City Council voted unanimously to renew the entertainment license for Urban Farm Fermentoy, if they agreed to stop all outdoor entertainment by 10pm and indoor entertainment by 11pm.

Residents in Bayside have logged complaints about that business and a few others in bayside over the noise levels.  Ely Cayer who owns the business told the Portland Press Herald he is confused by the decision that was made despite his countless hours and money spent on soundproofing.  Some of the city councilors said that want to revisit to see if a broader policy should be applied to all business in Bayside.
