MEDDYBEMPS, Maine (WGAN) Maine Game Wardens say a Calais man died after his kayak capsized on a lake in Washington County on Sunday.

Wardens say 62-year-old Francis Beaulieu was found floating unresponsive in his life jacket on Bearce Lake in Meddybemps a little before 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Just before that, two other kayakers heard him shout for help and paddled over to assist him, but were too late.

Emergency personnel tried to revive Beaulieu after he was brought to shore, but he was declared dead at the scene.

Wardens are still investigating the incident.
