Camden man accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting woman

A Camden man has been accused of kidnapping a woman and sexually assaulting her while holding her against her will for more than a week.

According to our news partners at CBS13. police charged 34-year-old Richard J. Ellis with kidnapping, gross sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal threatening, & obstructing the report of a crime.

According to police, Ellis took the woman’s cellphone, glasses, and car keys and prevented her from leaving a home on Park Street in Camden.

The woman was able to call for help on Wednesday.

She was reportedly taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for treatment.
