The Maine Warden Service says the body of a Canadian man was found in the St. John River near Fort Kent on Friday.

According to the Bangor Daily News, a Maine warden in a canoe found the body just before 10 a.m.

A 22-year-old woman was also found Thursday evening on the Canadian shore of the river, according to Warden Service Sgt. Adrian Marquis. She was taken to the hospital but there was no word on her condition as of Friday.

It’s unclear why the two were in the water.

The case is being investigated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
