HOULTON, Maine (AP) Officials say two people have been arrested after Royal Canadian Mounted Police shut down a border crossing because of a suspicious vehicle.

The border crossing between Houlton, Maine, and Woodstock, New Brunswick, was shut down around midday Friday. A Maine Emergency Management Agency spokeswoman said police arrested two people, but further details weren’t available.

The Mounties tweeted Friday afternoon that the situation was resolved with the arrests by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

For most of the day, traffic is being redirected away from the crossing into Houlton, Maine, because of the suspicious vehicle. The Canada Border Services Agency issued an alert saying the port of entry is experiencing a “service disruption.”
