Carmel house fire kills one

One man is dead after his house in Carmel caught fire Friday afternoon.

According to CBS 13, fire crews arrived at the scene around 3 p.m. but found the house engulfed in flames.

First responders found one body in the wreckage, believed to be Joseph Black, 70. Black and his wife were the only residents of the home.

Black’s wife was not home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the fire marshal’s office does not suspect foul play.
