Alcohol appears to be a factor in a crash that seriously injured an 81-year-old man in Baldwin.

The crash happened Tuesday evening on Bridgton Road, where the man lost control of his pickup truck and went off the road, crashing into a brick wall.

He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries.

Deputies say charges are pending in the crash, which is under investigation.
