A Maine man is facing charges after a police chase and standoff on Monday.

According to Belfast Police, Stephen Larrabee of Brooks was pulled over Monday morning. Police suspected he was impaired by drugs or alcohol. When they asked him to step out of the vehicle, he allegedly took off, leading police on a low-speed chase.

His vehicle was disabled in Plymouth, but he refused to get out and told police he had a gun.

Larrabee was taken into custody safely after several hours of negotiations.
