A Maine school district cancelled classes Tuesday due to what it said are transportation issues.

According to the Portland Press Herald, SAD 6, which includes Bonny Eagle schools, made the announcement Tuesday morning. The district says transportation issues prompted the decision, but no other information was given.

On social media, parents expressed frustration about the last-minute announcement and a lack of planning for a remote option.

It comes as schools deal with absences caused by COVID, which has also exacerbated a shortage of bus drivers, prompting some districts in the state to cancel bus routes.
