A coronavirus outbreak at a Hannaford distribution center in Winthrop is under investigation by the Maine CDC.

ADUSA Distribution LLC says that 21 cases of COVID-19 have been reported at the facility since March.

The Portland Press Herald wrote Monday that a spokesperson for ADUSA’s and Hannaford’s parent company Ahold Delhaize USA, said that 14 of the 350 employees at the facility are currently out of work with COVID-19.

Maine CDC director Dr. Nirav Shah said at Monday’s briefing that the outbreak is likely a product of community transmission that has been occurring in and around that area.
