NEWPORT, Maine (AP) Court records show a Maine couple dismissed divorce proceedings three weeks before the wife was found dead in their home.

Frederick Allen was charged with murder after his wife Anielka Allen was found dead in their Newport home on January 9th. Police said the death was a domestic violence homicide, but released no further details.

Court documents show that the couple filed for divorce on December 8th but dismissed the case about a week later and agreed to attend counseling.

It could not immediately be determined if Frederick Allen had a lawyer to comment on his behalf.
