Crash involving motorcycle and pickup truck in Waltham leaves one woman dead

One woman was killed when the motorcycle she was riding on was hit by a pickup truck in Hancock County on Sunday.

Maine State Police say 50-year-old Melissa Hatch of Brewer was a passenger on the motorcycle when the motorcycle operator lost control in Waltham. The motorcycle was struck by an oncoming pickup truck around 4:40 p.m. on Waltham Rd.

Police didn’t say if the operator of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old Brewer man, was injured.

The driver and passenger were wearing helmets.

The driver of the pickup wasn’t hurt.
