Crash kills teenager, injures two others, after driver flees from police in Turner

TURNER, Maine (WGAN) Police are investigating a crash in Turner that left a teenager dead and two others injured on Friday morning.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office says the incident was reported around 2:50 a.m. on Route 4.

A deputy attemped to pull over a vehicle that was speeding and passing other vehicles, but the driver took off. They eventually lost control, went off the road and hit a utility pole before rolling over near North Shore Drive.

Police say 18-year-old Julie Beaucage of Turner died at the scene. The male driver and another male passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle and taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where their condition is not yet known.
