One person was killed in a crash Tuesday on Route 1 in Scarborough.

Route 1 between Green Acres Drive and Pleasant Hill Road was closed in both directions for hours after the crash, which was first reported around 11:40 a.m.

Police say Emily Doyon, 36, of Windham was behind the wheel of a Toyota Prius when she tried to make a left turn on to Route 1 from a parking lot.

That’s when she was hit by a Mercedes car being driven by Joshua Bath, 25, of Arundel.

Doyon died after being taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Bath was treated and released at the scene while his passenger was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
