Multiple crews rescued a man in Falmouth Sunday.

Falmouth Fire-EMS responded to a report around 2:40 p.m. that an injured person on a rock at the edge of the Presumpscot River was in need of assistance.

A crew was sent into the woods via a trail at the end of Stapleford Drive.

They hiked 750 feet to the river and another 500 feet downstream before they located the injured man.

Rescuers used a rope system and a stokes basket with a wheel to get the man out of the woods and to an ambulance.

He was then taken to a local hospital.

A news release from Falmouth Fire-EMS provided no additional details about the man’s condition.
