Criminal Mischief Blamed for Extensive Winslow Power Outages

The Winslow Police Department says an act of criminal mischief likely caused extensive power outages on Sunday morning.

Officers say the activity reportedly occurred between 3 and 4 in the morning at the Benton Avenue Central Maine Power substation.

Police say people in the area heard multiple loud pops, and officers are now looking for “visual accounts” of anything suspicious.
