Dayton Man and Mother Arrested After Domestic Disturbance

DAYTON, Maine (WGAN)  Maine State Police say a man and his mother have been arrested after a domestic disturbance in Dayton Wednesday.

Police say they responded to a home on Dyer Road, learning when on scene that 26-year-old Brian King had kicked in a bathroom door and strangled his girlfriend.  Police say King also allegedly threatened to kill her and assaulted her mother.

Police say King had fled the house before they arrived on scene, but as they were gathering statements, he was seen running across the street and into a barn.

Trooper surrounded the barn and tried to coax King out, but he refused.

King’s mother, 56-year-old Sandra King, they arrived on scene and tried to go into the barn.  Police say they warned her to leave the scene and not enter the barn, but she wouldn’t listen and was subsequently arrested for hindering apprehension.

Police then went into the barn with a K-9 and found the younger King hiding in a loft under hay.  He was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault, assault and on an outstanding warrant.

Both were taken to York County Jail.  Brian King was being held without bail.  Sandra King’s was set at $100.
