Death of 3-year-old in Waldo County under investigation

Police are investigating the death of a child in Waldo County.

Shannon Moss, spokesperson for Maine State Police, says investigators are looking into the death of a 3-year-old in Stockton Springs. The child was pronounced dead after being brought to the hospital Sunday afternoon by a family member.

An autopsy was performed Monday, but there’s no word yet on a cause of death.

Detectives with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating.

More details are expected at a later time.
