Death of man after altercation in Bangor ruled a homicide

Bangor Police say an altercation that left one man dead is being investigated as a homicide.

Police said officers responded to a residence on Highland Avenue around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday for a reported altercation. The victim, 24-year-old Daniel Ford-Coates, was found with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say it was an isolated incident and there’s no threat to the public.

No other information was immediately available as the investigation continues.
