Death of man found in Cherryfield home ruled homicide

Police are investigating a homicide in Washington County.

Police responded to a home on Tenan Lane in Cherryfield around 9:15 p.m. Thursday for a report of a home invasion.

Deputies found the body of a man inside the home. They also discovered a woman with serious but non-life threatening injuries and another man with minor injuries.

Police say the body is that of 36-year-old Matthew Adams of Whitneyville. An autopsy was conducted Friday morning, with the medical examiner ruling the death a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing, with no other details available. Police say there’s no danger to the public.
