Department of Labor to investigate workplace death of Lebanon town employee

Town officials in Lebanon say a town employee died from injuries suffered in a workplace incident.

The town says the incident happened on June 15 at the corner of Shapleigh and Sage roads. The person, who has not been identified, was hospitalized with serious injuries at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and died on Sunday.

The town released a statement offering sympathies for the person’s family and friends.

The Maine Department of Labor is investigating the incident and the town says it’s cooperating with that investigation.

No other details have been released.
